This area’s interest in, and support of, the arts has resulted in a cultural smorgasbord of high quality arts programs other cities twice the size of Hickory might envy.  From The Green Room Theatre showcasing local adult and student talent to The Western Symphony.  We have something for every art lover.

Lake Hickory


Lake Hickory covers 4,200 acres and has105 miles of shoreline.  With sixteen boat launches and six marinas you can easily enjoy boating, sailing, jet skiing and water skiing.  The constant water level and clear water clarity make fishing a dream as is evident by the many fishing tournaments held here.

Craft Brew Scene


 What's better than a icy, locally crafted beer at the end of the day...nothing!  Hickory abounds with local crafters willing to share their unique brews everywhere from local pubs to farm to table restaurants.  So have a bit and support the local community.

Hickory Crawdads


The Hickory Crawdads are a Minor League Baseball team that have called Hickory home since 1993. The 'Dads, as they are affectionately known, are the High A affiliate of the Texas Rangers.  Nothing beats a relaxing baseball game, great food and cold beer!
